Steps for making a proxy site
March 19th, 2008 By Waikhom Earn money online, ProxyMaking a proxy site of your own in your own domain is not a tough work. But some people, especially newbies, get stucked in the process. So, today, I’ll be telling you some easy steps on how to make a proxy site of your own. However, I’ve assumed that the user have some idea of website management like buying a domain, domain name server setup, uploading files, etc. Also, I’ve used PHProxy for making the proxy site because of it’s easy to use and it’s capability to proxy secure urls like https protocol. Now, if you want to make a proxy site of your own, just follow the following steps:
- Buy a domain name. If you don’t know how to, Read this article on “How to buy a domain name?“. The domain name can be any but it should be short and easy to remember because you don’t want your users to forget your domain name or confuse with others.
- Now, go to Phproxy download link and download the phproxy script. Extract the files into your computer. Now, you will see some files and these files must be uploaded into your domain’s root folder
- If you have an FTP Client, upload the script files into your domain’s root folder (public.html folder in case you have a single domain or your domain is the main domain of your hosting). If you don’t have an FTP client, upload the files through your Cpanel’s File manager.
After the upload is complete, your proxy is ready for use. Now, you can start promoting your proxy and put adsense and other advertisements in it to generate revenue.

Hi Andy,
I’ll make you clear what a proxy site does.
Firstly, for me, it gives me money from the ads shown on the website. The way you get money depends and you may get money for clicks on the ads or just impressions. There are various ways you can earn. This is the view from my side or from a proxy owner’s side.
Now, for a user, a proxy site usually serves two purposes - Hding their ip address (anonymity) and unblocking sites.
Hiding their ip address, you might already know but unblocking site means if you are unable to open certain sites like myspace, facebook etc because your internet provider blocks it, then in such a case, you can open such sites through a proxy site. From my experience, the main reason people are using proxy sites is because of this reason.
I hope I made you clear. If not, don’t hesitate to ask me again.:)

Good article. The demand for proxies is quite high at the moment, with more and more getting blocked.
http://www.cazed.com seems to work for most things.
